The museum also features the Flamingo Gardens education department, which offers hands-on experiences in nature. For those interested in history, the museum has a gallery devoted to late President Franklin D. Roosevelt. In addition to exhibits related to the history of the region, the museum also features a nature trail and an onsite canoeing facility. The museum also has special collections of automobile memorabilia.

The Florida Aquarium is another destination that is worth a visit. The Aquarium is located downtown and is rated among the top USA TODAY aquariums in North America, TripAdvisor’s top 10 in the country, and a Parents Magazine top five “Kid-Friendly” aquarium. Visitors can explore Florida’s unique wildlife through interactive exhibits, simulated wetlands, and shallow bays. The aquarium also houses a simulated coral reef ecosystem in half a million gallons of natural seawater.

While visiting the Gulfarium, families can also experience live shows and presentations that educate and entertain. The museum is open daily from 9:30am to 4:30pm and admission costs $24 for adults and $16 for children ages three and up.
